RAM Music was formed in 2001, initially to release Nurudin's first solo album 'Beard & Sandals', with plans to release other artists work in the future, starting with a dance remix album of varied Celtic music.
New band Buried Heads have been performing and recording mostly original material, initially based on Nurudin (ex Peatbog Faeries) compositions and other band members such as Ali Pentland (ex Peatbog Faeries) on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, lead vocals; Paul Hayward on drums, vocals; Doug Lister on bass, vocals; Nurudin on keyboards, weird stuff and vocals.
Buried Heads are currently working on an album which we intend to release in the new year, followed by touring.
'Whilst we embrace modern technology wholeheartedly, we are painfully aware of the dangers of succumbing to all it's temptations and becoming just another techno band. The biggest buzz to be had is when the band gells in a live situation preferably in front of a big crowd. To make this happen we must not rely on recorded or preprogrammed sequences. Similarly I think it is very important to try and capture the live feel when recording. Reading articles of how things wee done before computers, and knowing that such great performances from artists recorded decades ago (onto very humble equipment compared to modern standards) still send shivers, underlines the importance of this point. In order to re-capture this magic, we (the band) have purchased a digital multi track machine so that we cna record our rehearsals with their many magic gelling moments onto multiple tracks simultaniously, and use these as the basis for the finished album tracks. I hope we we can achieve this without the need for even a click track, though this remains to be seen (or heard). This will of course take a lot of skill and time. Interestingly I read an artcle oabout how Mickey Most got the Animals to fly down to London one morning whilst in the middle of an intensive tour, to record the single 'House of The Rising Sun'. The studio was booked for three hours and the band, having laid down this classic in only the seond take, decided to carry on and record the rest of the album in the remaining tow and a quarter hours before flying back up north for the next gig of the tour.' ...
